The Greenwich Sail and Power Squadron has approximately 160 members who enjoy sailboats and powerboats in the waters of Greenwich, Connecticut. The Greenwich Sail & Power Squadron is a unit of District 2 of the United States Power Squadrons® operating in Greenwich CT We welcome you to find out more about us on this page! District 2 is one of 33 districts of the United States Power Squadrons®, the world's largest private, non-profit, boating organization. District 2 (D2) geographically includes Lake Champlain, Lake George, Sacandaga, the Hudson River areas of New York and the western ends of Connecticut and Massachusetts. D2 has 19 different Squadrons with approximately 2000 members who share boating knowledge and camaraderie. Experienced instructors teach courses on Seamanship, Piloting, Navigation, Weather and much more. Successfully completing one of the USPS Public Boating Courses meets the educational requirements for boat operation in all states. One of the main goals of the United States Power Squadrons is “boating safety through education”—we believe that an educated boater is a safer boater. USPS provides many skill building opportunities to the general public through a variety of courses, seminars, and marine-related guides. Our instructors are certified regarding their ability to teach and to use of modern instructional techniques. All classes are fun and informative, and bring you into contact with other boaters. |
